ONE WAY AND TWO WAY SLAB DESIGN PROGRAMME

In high rise buildings and skyscrapers, thinner, pre-cast concrete slabs are slung between the steel frames to form the floors and ceilings on each level. On the technical drawings, reinforced concrete slabs are often abbreviated to “r.c.c.slab” or simply “r.c.”.

A Reinforced Concrete Slab is one of the most important structural elements of modern buildings. Most often, these concrete slabs are used to construct floors and ceilings in high rise buildings and skyscrapers. The thickness ranges from 10 to 50 centimeters and are supported on columns and beams.
