Calculation Quantity of Cement Sand And Aggregate In Concrete Slab

Calculation Quantity of Cement Sand And Aggregate In Concrete Slab

Here we calculate the quantity of cement sand and aggregate in concrete slab detailed calculation given below

It is very easy to calculate how much is required for the construction of the slab.

Concrete slab floors come in many forms and can be used to provide great thermal comfort and lifestyle advantages. Slabs can be on-ground, suspended. A slab is a structural element, made of concrete, that is used to create flat horizontal surfaces such as floors, roof decks and ceilings.

Example:

Let suppose we have two-way slab having a length of 20 ft and same as the width of 20 ft and use M15 grade of concrete.

Calculate the quantity of cement, sand, and aggregate that are used in a slab and thickness of the slab is 6 inches?

Given date:

Length = 20 ft

Width = 20ft

Thickness = 7 inches

Solution:

Calculate the volume of the slab and then this volume is converted into a wet condition to dry condition and then find out the how much material is required for the slab.

Total volume of slab

= L x W x H

= 20 x 20 x 0.583

= 233.2 cubic feet

Convert dry volume to wet volume

Dry volume = wet volume x 1.54

= 233.2 x 1.54

= 359.12 cu.f

Ratio of concrete (1:2:4 =7)/n Volume of cement

= ratio of cement / total ratio x volume

= 1 / 7 x 233.2

= 33.31 cft

Convert this volume into cement bags.You know that 1.25 cuf in one cement bag.

= 33.31 / 1.25

= 26.65 bags

Volume of Sand

= ratio of sand / total ratio x volume

= 2 / 7 x233.2

= 66.62 cft

Volume of aggregate

= ratio of aggregate / total ratio x volume

= 4 / 7 x 233.2

= 133.25 cft
