How to Calculate Quantity of Materials for PCC Slab
The quantity of materials required for a plain cement concrete (PCC) slab can be calculated by considering the volume of concrete required and then converting it into the required amount of cement, sand, aggregate, and water.

Volume of concrete = Length x Breadth x Thickness
Next, you can calculate the amount of cement, sand, aggregate, and water required for the concrete mix, based on the mix design proportions.

let’s consider an example of a PCC slab with the following specifications:
Length = 10 meters
Breadth = 5 meters
Thickness = 0.15 meters
Volume of concrete = Length x Breadth x Thickness
= 10 x 5 x 0.15
= 7.5 cubic meters
Assume a mix design of 1:2:4 (cement:sand:aggregate) with a water-cement ratio of 0.5.
Amount of cement required = Volume of concrete x (cement content / (cement + sand + aggregate))
= 7.5 x (1 / (1 + 2 + 4))
= 7.5 x (1 / 7)
= 1.07 cubic meters
Amount of sand required = Volume of concrete x (sand content / (cement + sand + aggregate))
= 7.5 x (2 / (1 + 2 + 4))
= 7.5 x (2 / 7)
= 2.14 cubic meters
Amount of aggregate required = Volume of concrete x (aggregate content / (cement + sand + aggregate))
= 7.5 x (4 / (1 + 2 + 4))
= 7.5 x (4 / 7)
= 4.29 cubic meters
Amount of water required = Volume of concrete x water-cement ratio
= 7.5 x 0.5
= 3.75 cubic meters

So, for the given example, you will need 1.07 cubic meters of cement, 2.14 cubic meters of sand, 4.29 cubic meters of aggregate, and 3.75 cubic meters of water to make 7.5 cubic meters of PCC.
