It is usual to increase the cementites<\/p>\n<p>materially some percentage.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In this example an increase of 10% is considered.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Cementitious material (Cement + fly ash) content<\/p>\n<p>= 370 x 1.10<\/p>\n<p>= 407 kg\/m<sup>3<\/sup><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Water content = 148 litre<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>w\/c ratio = 148\/407 = 0.364<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Let us the percentage of fly ash as 30%<\/p>\n<p>Fly ash content = 407 x 0.30 = 122.0 kg\/m<sup>3<\/sup><\/p>\n<p>Cement content = 407 &#8211; 122 = 285 kg\/m<sup>3<\/sup><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Therefore. saving of cement while using fly ash: 370 &#8211; 285 = 85 kg\/m<sup>3<\/sup><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step-5 : Coarse aggregate and find aggregate content <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>From Table-6.8. volume of coarse aggregate corresponding to 20 mm maximum size of<\/p>\n<p>Aggregate and fine aggregate (Zone-I) for water cement ratio 0.50 = 0.60.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In the present case w\/c = 0.40. i.e. less by 0.10.
