Requirement of Material and Labour for Civil Work <\/strong><\/h2>\n

The\u00a0 Work\u00a0shall be carried\u00a0out according\u00a0to these Specifications\u00a0whether specifically mentioned elsewhere or not. No extra in any form will be paid unless it is definitely stated as an item in the Bill of Quantities.<\/p>\n

Whenever the Specifications are not given or when the Specifications are ambiguous, the relevant Nepal\u00a0Standards or Indian\u00a0Standards and\u00a0further amendments will\u00a0be considered as\u00a0final and binding.All Works shall be carried out simultaneously with electrical, plumbing, sanitary and other services and in co-operation with the Contractors of the above services. The Work shall be carried on till it is\u00a0completed satisfactorily along\u00a0with the completion\u00a0 of\u00a0other essential services. \u00a0The building Contractor\u00a0shall keep the other Contractors\u00a0informed of the\u00a0proposed program of\u00a0 Work,\u00a0 well\u00a0 in advance,\u00a0 so that\u00a0the building Work\u00a0 is not\u00a0 hindered.\u00a0 The Contractor shall further cooperate with other\u00a0Contractors in respect\u00a0 of\u00a0 any\u00a0facility required by\u00a0 them\u00a0e.g. making holes\u00a0 in\u00a0 shuttering\u00a0 for sanitary, pipes, electric conduits, fan hook etc. However, no extra payment shall be admissible for such\u00a0reasonable assistance and\u00a0 facilities\u00a0afforded to other\u00a0Contractors and the\u00a0 building Contractors shall\u00a0be deemed to\u00a0 have\u00a0taken these factors\u00a0into consideration while\u00a0 quoting\u00a0 the rates.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0 Work\u00a0shall be related\u00a0 to\u00a0the drawings which\u00a0 the\u00a0 Contractor\u00a0is presumed to\u00a0 have\u00a0 studied.Nothing extra will\u00a0 be\u00a0paid for any\u00a0 item\u00a0because of\u00a0its shape,\u00a0 location\u00a0 or\u00a0other difficult circumstances,\u00a0 even\u00a0 if\u00a0 the\u00a0schedule makes no\u00a0 distinction,\u00a0 as\u00a0 long\u00a0as the item\u00a0is shown in\u00a0 the drawings.<\/p>\n

The sources of materials stated in the Specifications are those from which materials are generally available. However, materials not conforming to Specifications shall be rejected even if they come from the stated sources. The Contractor should satisfy himself that sufficient quantity of materials of acceptable Specification is available form the stated or other sources.<\/p>\n

The requirements of Specifications shall be fulfilled by the Contractor without extra charges i.e. the item rates quoted shall be deemed to have taken these Specifications into account.<\/p>\n

These are requirements the Contractor shall fulfil after the issue of Letter of Acceptance but before the Date of Commencement required for construction purpose.<\/p>\n

The Contractor shall make his own arrangement for all internal and external telephones and other communication means deemed necessary for the Works.The Contractor shall make his own arrangement for office equipment and other consumable for his use for the Works.<\/p>\n

Safety Measures <\/strong><\/h2>\n

The\u00a0Contractor shall be\u00a0responsible for safety\u00a0 of\u00a0all workmen and\u00a0 other\u00a0persons entering the Works and shall at his own expense; where not stated otherwise take all measures, subject to the Engineer’s approval,\u00a0necessary to ensure their safety.Such measures\u00a0 shall\u00a0 include\u00a0 but\u00a0 not\u00a0 be limited to:<\/p>\n
