How to install Primavera P6 Project Management?<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n

Primavera P6 is the latest software package that is used for comprehensive enterprise project portfolio management (EPPM) solutions. Primavera was founded by Primavera Systems Inc. in 1983 which is then acquired by Oracle Corporation in 2008.<\/span>

Installation of Primavera is a bit tricky but not very difficult at all. In this post I am going to share the procedure that how one can install Primavera P6. Installation procedure is similar for Windows 7 and Windows 8. \u00a0Don\u2019t worry if you are using windows XP and other related operating systems. This installation guide will work for each and every of famous operating systems.<\/span>
<\/span><\/p>\n

Step # 1: Download Primavera P6 ISO File and MagicISO Virtual CD\/DVD manager<\/span><\/h2>\n
<\/div>\n

First Download both the files from the link below i.e. both ths PS.iso file and MagicISO Virtual CD\/DVD manager<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Step# 2: Install the MagicISO Virtual CD\/DVD Manager\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n
<\/div>\n

\u00a0Installation of this package is very simple and straight forward<\/span>
1)<\/span> Run the \u201ciso software..setup_magicdisc106.exe\u201d setup<\/span>
<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

2)<\/span> Click Next Button 3 times<\/span>
3)<\/span> Click Finish and you are done<\/span>

Step#3: Mount the P6.ISO \u00a0disk file in virtual CD\/DVD MagicDisc<\/span><\/h2>\n

1)<\/span> Right Click the p6.iso file and click Mount as shown;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

2)<\/span> Wait for a while until the disk is mounted and a new window is displayed as shown below containing all the files in the P6.iso file;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

Step#4 Install the Primavera P6 software package<\/span><\/h2>\n
<\/div>\n

1)<\/span> Double click the setup.exe file to run the Primavera P6 setup as shown; (Click Yes if systems prompts for security assurance)<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

2)<\/span> Click Next<\/span>
3)<\/span> Enter \u201cEC-C01\u201d as Product Code in the setup as shown;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

4)<\/span> Select \u201cI accept the terms of License agreement \u201d and click Next<\/span>
5)<\/span> In the Setup Type Select Primavera Stand-alone and Click Next as shown;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

6)<\/span> Select the Destination Folder (Recommended \u201cC:\\Primavera\u201d) and Click Next<\/span>
7)<\/span> Click Next in the common files destination folder<\/span>
8)<\/span> Tick Mark Sample Project if you want to install Sample Projects and Click Next as shown;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

9)<\/span> Click Next in the Program Shortcut folder<\/span>
10)<\/span> In the license selection part; Click Browse and Locate the \u201clicense.txt\u201d \u00a0in the License folder of the Disk mounted as shown;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

11)<\/span> Click Next<\/span>
12)<\/span> Click Install<\/span>
13)<\/span> Wait a while for the setup to work and install necessary files<\/span>

14)<\/span> If during the setup error occurs \u201ccould not write value to key \\SOFTWARE\u2026.\u201d Click Ignore as shown;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

15)<\/span> In the database configuration;<\/span>

16)<\/span> Click Finish and you are done.<\/span>
17)<\/span> Open the project Management Module from the Apps or from start menu as shown;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

18)<\/span> If you get an error while launching Primavera P6 about \u201cError: Couldn\u2019t Locate the language file\u201d and a Runtime Error don\u2019t worry proceed as follows;<\/span>

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 a.<\/span> \u00a0Locate the language file at the following location: C:\\Program Files\\Common Files\\Primavera Common\\Languages<\/span>
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0b.<\/span> \u00a0Copy the Language folder and paste it to the following location: C:\\Program Files\\Primavera\\Project Management\\Languages\\comCaptions.en-us<\/span>

19)<\/span> In the Login and Password enter admin in both, and hit OK<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

20)<\/span> If you get an error \u201cLicensed named users is less than configured Named user\u201d ignore it and Hit Ok<\/span>

26)<\/span> Now Close Primavera so that settings can be saved and restart Primavera and you are done with installation.<\/span>
