Here we calculate the bar bending schedule of beam detailed calculation given below:<\/p>\n

The quantity of the beam is very easy and simple.Just you need to know about basics of beam.<\/p>\n

Example:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Let us we have a simple supported beam having a cross section 300 x 500 mm and length of the beam is 4m.<\/p>\n

The main bars used in this beam is 20 mm and support bar diameter is 16mm.The diameter of stirrup is 12 mm and spacing of stirrup is at an end is 100 mm and 150 mm at the mid support of the beams.<\/p>\n

  3. Calculate the weight of steel ?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Given Data:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    Length = 4 m<\/p>\n

    Height = 500 m<\/p>\n

    Width = 300 m<\/p>\n

    Solution:<\/p>\n

    Main bar (20 mm):<\/p>\n

    Length = length of beam + development length \u2013 bend<\/p>\n

    Where<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    Bend 45deg = 1d , 90deg = 2d , 135deg = 3d<\/p>\n

    Development length is the grip between steel and concrete<\/p>\n

    Length:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    = 4000 + (50d x 2) \u2013 (2d x 2)<\/p>\n

    = 4000 + (50 x 20 x 2) \u2013 (2 x 20 x2)<\/p>\n

    = 4000 + 2000 \u2013 80<\/p>\n

    = 5920 mm or 5.92 m<\/p>\n

    For 2 nos<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    = 5.92 x 2<\/p>\n

    = 11.84 m<\/p>\n

    Weight <\/strong><\/h3>\n

    = d\u00b2\/162 x length<\/p>\n

    = 20 x 20\/162 x 11.84<\/p>\n

    = 29.2 kg<\/p>\n

    Supports bar (16mm)<\/p>\n

    Length = length of beam + Ld \u2013 bend<\/p>\n

    For 90 dig bend = 2d<\/p>\n

    = 4000 + (50d x 2) \u2013 (2d x 2)<\/p>\n

    = 4000 + (50 x 16 x 2)<\/p>\n

    = 4000 + 1600 \u2013 64<\/p>\n

    = 5536 or 5.536 m<\/p>\n

    For 2 nos<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    = 5.536 x 2<\/p>\n

    = 11.072 m<\/p>\n

    Weight <\/strong><\/h3>\n

    = d\u00b2\/162 x length<\/p>\n

    = 16 x 16\/162 x 11.072<\/p>\n

    = 16.47 kg<\/p>\n

    Stirrups:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    Length is divided into 2 ways 1st<\/sup> is at support and 2nd<\/sup> is at mid support.<\/p>\n

    For end supports:(spacing 100 mm)<\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n

    Length \/ 3:<\/p>\n

    = 4000\/3<\/p>\n

    = 1333.3 m<\/p>\n

    No of stirrups<\/p>\n

    = Length \/ spacing + 1<\/p>\n

    = 1333.3\/100 + 1<\/p>\n

    = 14.33 use 15 Nos<\/p>\n

    Total no of stirrups for end supports<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    = 15 x 2<\/p>\n

    = 30 nos<\/p>\n

    For mid supports: (spacing 150mm)<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    <\/p>\n

    Length = 1333.3 m<\/p>\n

    No of stirrups<\/p>\n

    = length \/spacing + 1<\/p>\n

    = 133.3\/150 + 1<\/p>\n

    = 7.88 use 8 nos<\/p>\n

    Cutting Length of stirrups:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    Cross section of stirrups is<\/p>\n

    Width = 300 mm<\/p>\n

    Height = 500 mm<\/p>\n

    A is Horizontal length of stirrup<\/p>\n

    = 300 \u2013 (2 x clear cover ) \u2013 (2 x half of bar dia)<\/p>\n

    = 300 \u2013 (2 x 30) \u2013 (2x 6)<\/p>\n

    = 228 mm<\/p>\n

    B is vertical length of stirrup<\/p>\n

    = 500 \u2013 (2 x clear cover ) \u2013 (2 x half of bar dia)<\/p>\n

    = 500 \u2013 (2 x 30) \u2013 ( 2 x 6)<\/p>\n

    = 428 mm<\/p>\n

    Cutting length of one stirrups is<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Cutting length<\/strong><\/p>\n

    = (2 x A) + (2 x B) + (2 x 10D) \u2013 (3d x 2) \u2013 (2d x3)<\/p>\n

    Where<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    10d is hook and 3d is bend 135 for dig and 2d is bend for 90 dig<\/p>\n

    In one stirrups 5bend is required<\/p>\n

    Cutting Length:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    = ( 2 x 228) + (2 x 428) + (2 x 10 x 12) \u2013 (3 x 12 x 2) \u2013 (2 x 12 x 3)<\/p>\n

    = 456 +856 +240 -72-72<\/p>\n

    = 1408 mm or 1.408 m<\/p>\n

    For total 38 stirrups<\/p>\n

    = 1.408 x 38<\/p>\n

    = 53.50m<\/p>\n

    Weight of steel req of stirrups is<\/strong><\/h3>\n
