Steps\nfollowed in the Preparation of Project and Execution of a Work<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Any medium\nto major civil work or a project involves the following stages for preparation\nand execution<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1.Preliminary\ninvestigation is done and a rough estimate is prepared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2.Administrative\napproval of the department concerned is to be obtained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3.Land\nacquisition if any has to be started. ‘<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4.Detailed\nsurvey is done if required depending on the nature of work and survey plans are\nprepared<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5.Designs,\ndrawings, plans, elevations, sections etc., are prepared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6.Detailed\nestimates of all the works complete with abstract, general abstract, report,\ndesign calculations, detailed specifications etc., are to be prepared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7.Technical\nsanction of the competent authority is obtained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

8.Allotment of funds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

9.Requirement\nof Materials such as cement, steel etc., is worked out is worked out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

10.Plan for\nthe arrangement of tools, plants, heavy machineries if required in advance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

11. Tender\nfor works are invited as per Rules(KTPP Act) and process of bidding and\nacceptance of the bidder would take place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

12.Contract\nagreement with all contract documents, schedules, specifications,design\ndrawings, plans etc., with terms and conditions are to be signed between the\nengineer and the contractor<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Preparation
Two civil engineers and a senior foreman at construction site are inspecting ongoing construction works according to design drawings.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

13.For\nexecution of works, detailed working drawings are to be prepared as required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

14.The\nexecution of work is started, supervised, inspected and completed as per the\nterms and conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

15.For\ndefective, unsatisfactory work or slow progress, contractor is issued notices\nand penalty imposed as per the terms and conditions of contract<\/p>\n\n\n\n

16.Payment\nto Contractor is made by running account bill from time to time as the work\nprogresses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

17.Actual\nmeasurements of works done are recorded in the measurement book properly and\ncontents calculated in the proper columns by the concerned Engineer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

18.A senior\nEngineer in charge has to check the measurements as per rule and prepare the\nbill in proper form and pay orders obtained in the measurement book and bill\nand then payments are made to the contractor after due acknowledgement<\/p>\n\n\n\n

19.Materials\nif any supplied and the materials at site account are maintained<\/p>\n\n\n\n

20.When the\nwhole work is complete as per the terms and conditions of contract, it is\ninspected thoroughly and on full satisfaction, the final payment of the\ncontractor is made on taking actual measurement and preparing bill in proper\nform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

21.The Security and Earnest Money Deposit amounts are paid to the Contractor after the satisfactory completion and on confirming the-quality of worksfor a period specified in the contract agreement (normally 12 or 24 months) after the completion of works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
