What are the benefits of using floating foundations in construction projects?

Floating foundations are typically effective where weak soil conditions exist and it is desireable to spread the pressure of the structure on the soil over a larger area.

      deep foundations may be more expensive than a floating foundation. Employing the services of a geotechnical engineer would be very helpful.

      expansive soil (that expands and lifts buildings when it gets wet and shrinks when it dries), a floating foundation can help.

      Deep foundations are also effective for these conditions, provided there is stronger soil or solid rock at a deeper depth.
